Hi. My brother recently composed a 3 instrument piece of music, and I'm looking to create a patch that responds (with video playback)to all three instruments being played individually (violin, banjo and guitar). I'm a beginner at max, if anyone is able to help me with the patch I've made so far I would really appreciate it!

Your patch isn't really legible -- best practice is to select all in the patch, choose Edit>>Copy Compressed, and paste the compressed patch into your post. 

If you want the individual instruments to respond individually, they will each need their own input. If you're looking for basics like amplitude and pitch detection, look those up here in the forum -- you'll find plenty of approaches!

here is a fairly precise pitch detection 

I use it for upright electronic bass - so my logic is fairly complex for step 6- (simple example included)

but this gets each instrument detected separately

you will need an interface with each instrument mic'd separately

as mentioned by @MATTYO the forums are filled with different ways to detect pitches
