[jitter] High FPS IR cameras? Natural Point? Any others?

Hi maxlist

I need a high FPS IR camera for a multimedia performance I am working on. We need to track fast short gestures which will be lost at 29.9fps. I am considering using one of the Natural Point Optitrack cameras, but I am worried about the time commitment needed to make them usable. I am willing to do what it takes to complete the project but I would rather spend my time on the artistic rather than the logistical side of things.

The OptiTrack series come with an API and sample applications. The API is available as a COM interface allowing one to write applications in C/C++ or a number of other languages. However this would also make it a pretty significant project to port any OptiTrack applications to OS X.

I know of one person who has used an older model of Natural Point IR camera with a custom windows app which sends OSC messages via UDP, but sadly I do not think this older model of camera is available anymore. I was wondering if anyone has any experience using these cameras with OSC and/or Max? Also does anyone know of any other high FPS IR cameras that may not require quite so much relatively low level coding? Thanks for any info.
