[jitter] Movie Audio...?

I have two movies playing and I'd like to not only mix the output together, but put some filters before the mix.  I can see how to use spigot to pull a copy of the audio off of the video, is this the only way?  I imagine I could set the audio volume to 0 if I do this.

Is there a better way?  I want to make sure the video and audio stay in sync.
