Ok, I sorted it.  Go into:

C:\PROGRAM FILES\QUICKTIME 
|               
+---QTComponents

and delete:  AbstractPlaneVDIG.qtx  

that did the trick.

and I'll check out the  jit.dx.grab, it's just that the tutorial has the other in it.
