I'm not seeing those oscillations, but when trying out the "discocubes" patch I posted last week in 5, I get a steady 6fps with 200 cubes, sync 0 and qmetro 10. This as opposed to 46fps with the same settings in 4.6 MBP 2.33 intel core 2 duo, OS 10.4.11, 2gb ram, x1600 256Mb.
