[jitter] code for light sensor video playback

Greetings kind people, 
I'm using light sensors to trigger videos but the playback is inconsistent.  Right now the patch uses "if" arguments. Any better ideas? Does anyone know how I might include in the patch an argument to ignore all other signals except the most recent one?  

Lastly I'm running this patch off of a one year old powerbook, what's the highest resolution I can render my videos out at and still get smooth playback?
