But I think I was approaching this the wrong way around..

What I need to do is superimpose a black mask over the image I want to reveal. Then I want to unmask each individual pixel one by one to gradually show what is beneath. 

What's the best way to approach this? 

Setcell, getcell only refer to colour values and not transparency, right?
