[maxmsp] Checkbox dosn't activate/graphic-window size

Hello,

I have two problems, I hope someone can help me.
Unfortunately I can't post the patch or a picture of it, because it's on the Mac at the university.

1) In a MaxMSP patch, I have a checkbox. This checkbox, with one outgoing cord and three ingoing, doesn't "check" when it receives a bang event from the program. The funny thing about this is, if I click with the mouse on the bang button, the checkbox activates!

What's the difference between a bang that's initiated from the program and a bang that's coming from a user's mouseclick?

2) I have created a window (patch command: "graphic iTerminal 50 50 1024 768") and insert a picture into it (command: "pict iTerminal pic1.pct").
I can't see why, but the picture is scaled in a very strange way: When I insert a picture with very large resolution (about 5000x3800), it scales it down to something about 1400x1100 (roughly, couldn't see if it's one of the standard-resolutions, so I assume not). When I insert a picture in suitable 1024x768 resolution, it's scaled down to a small piece in the upper corner, as if the size were 400x300. I deleted the command patches and created it new - all stays the same. I searched the MaxMSP text file of the patch and didn't find anything strange.

Would be glad if anyone could help.
Could not find anything with the search function...
Thanks in advance!
