Both are opened and I can swith form one to the other one. Ok, I understund Stefan, but it will not change my problem - little does it matter how you assign your MIDI objects (menu, double click or by argument) they lost this link after you change the sessions. What I saw now, it was that when you double click on the object "ctlin" for example, and choose one input (for exemple 5th input on the menu, after the change of the sessions when you duble click on the object again - there are not this 5th imput selected, but every time the first input selected! Something is broken inside Max andd Max doesn't now redirect the MIDI..... About the problem with the names - you are right, it's realy not clear to put the names like "a" "b" etc.. but it's only way to have your patch compatible Mac-Windows - and that's what is important for us. I am developping on the Mac but the personne who is working with the instrument take PC witth him to the school.... and the soft has to be compatibble immediatly to the differents machines into the differents studios too, and we buy the new intterfaces, and I have to developpe the patch on my Mac, but tested on the other and with other intterface etc ..... Windows don't have the AudioMIDI setup..... and there are only "Abrev" letters communs between two systems, that's why is my choice to put the same names like "Abbrev" lettters! In your patch you put the name "a" to redirect your MIDI input - on Mac you declare this name on "AudiMIDI setup" and Max know where it's going. On windows there arre not "AudiMIDI setup", but user put very simply "Abbrev" in Max "MIDI Setup" into letters "a" "b" etc... in order and that's all! The names are abbreviations and it's mean you use the same "names" every where and with any MIDI interface. If not - when you change the interface, windows put others names to the ports...... thanks guys for youor ideas, hope now that devellopers of Max will ffind the bug... ;-))) Alexander Mihalic ----------------------------------------------------------- Computer Music Department Manager IMEB Pl.
