[maxmsp] Print from Max

I have read the forum discussion about the connection of the printer to Max... but I still have problems about the "shell" object. I tryed to open one patch that uses the shell object in the latest version of max, but I still have the same problem: that object is not recognized. How can I make it work without knowing java script, or applescript language? (please: baby steps for that!)
