Hi,

we use Re-Wire for connection Max-PT in our studios. no pb for
opening and for connecting audio, but only pb is that max is used
like "synthtiser", it's mean you can send an audio signal from Max to
PT but not from PT to Max....... you have open the software in
specific order:
1 - start PT
2 - start Max/MSP
3 - DSP on (max/MSP)
4 - select driver ad-rewire
5- select your virtual outputs form max/MSP
6- new track PT
7- select RTAS plugin (Digidesign or Instrument menu) Max (mono)
8- click on plug and select input voice from Max

that's all

All other software is conected with JackAudio - excelent and the bset
one I think

You can't use jack or Soundflower to connect Max with PT, because....
it's impossible...... There are not inputs from other software to PT
and PT doesn't accept use the PT Hardware by another software when PT
is running..... only solution is ReWire. without audio retourn to Max

maybe it's good idea to put the audio inputs to Max from ReWire?
