[maxmsp] .mxo extensions on 4.57?

hey  Im trying to get axis2quat a mxo extension to work in 4.57 or mac
doesn't show u even though its hanging out in extensions. what are  mxo and
are supported in dusts of this previous world or does I gots to move into
the more now of max to get this utility
