this is very interesting and worth investigating further

but for those of us not using Airport Extreme and still on OS X 10.4.x
I wonder if the new(er) versions of Quicktime might also be a culprit
in the recent experience of audio breakup/glitching when playing
mp3's and doing anything network related (i.e. chat, web, ftp, email
etc)

anyone else experience this?

my config:

OS X 10.4.11
G4 PB 1.67GHz
=========
Max/MSP 4.6.3
Jitter 1.6.3
Pluggo 3.6.1
Soundflower 1.2
