[maxmsp] "Hi"/USB - Wireless HRMonitor - Help Me!!!

I'm trying to connect a wireless heart rate monitor, receiver to MaxMSP, i'm sure you can imagine how i might use this. My basic problems are as follow, not only does the "hi" object not pick up the device, it isn't showing any on my machine, even though i have a variety of devices connected. including a usb midi keyboard.

The drivers for the Suunto PC Pod, (the wireless receiver) are working, and the bundled software is picking up the heart rate. Can anyone suggest how i might make hi pick up this device, or another command, or way of getting the patch to pick the data up, or even just recognise the device? 

I have to uae the device in performance next wednesday and i get the impression i may be, how shall i put this, up s*** creek, without a paddle.
