[maxmsp] alternative midi controllers

Hello, 

I am writing a patch at the moment for use in a theatre production that will allow samples to be triggered when a button is pressed.  
What I'm looking for is some kind of controller that can be connected to my laptop and used to trgger my patch.
Ive seen these self adhesive pads that are connected to a usb.  They are like small drum pads and can potentially be stuck to an individual and not seen by an audience.  
I was wondering if anyone knew what these are called and where I could get something like that.  Also, if there are any other triggers that you feel could be interesting for my show, please could you let me know.
