[maxmsp] File Preferences etc. disappeared from Options Menu

I'm having trouble with search paths in Max, but somehow everything that usually lies below DSP status in the options menu (Colors, File Preferences, Performance Options, Text Selection) has disappeared.  I recently did a fresh install of Max, so perhaps this is a feature in the most recent version?

Without the File Preferences option, how do I access Max's search paths?
