Well, it depends : if you declare your pps first, they appear as  
"automatable" parameters in a track - but if you need to declare your  
plugparams (with more than 128 parameters) first, then the pps are  
not available within a track any more - annoying.
In Pro Tools, for example, plugparams are hidden from the automation  
list.
