and could anyone recommend how to recreate it in pluggo? it was a mac os 9 vst plug, which moved pitch [and speed] with a graphical automatable interface. what was special was that it didn't use granular principles - changing pitch is easy these days - it actually loaded upcoming audio into its buffer when you raised pitch and dumped it when you lowered it; for every action there was an equal reaction. very useful for rhythmic tracks, since it always devolved back to the audio in the track, which would normally be in rhythm. so if you pushed up the pitch, it sounded like a tape speeding up, then when you let go, it would slow back down. nearest thing yet to actually having a track on tape. there are gezillions of plugs to mess with pitch, but i haven't found quite the right thing yet. i'm even thinking of getting a little reel-to-reel to do this. recommendations would be welcomed! -- addicted to free plugins!
