Actually, you can try to delete the package command from plugconfig and save the change, but when you reopen plugconfig, the line is still there.

One can't live with the error message, because the error message means that one has an error message instead of a GUI.

(But of course neither here nor there, since the solution I have above takes care of these problems.)
