Unfortunately, it looks like java net sends (net.udp.send, net.tcp.send, net.multi.send) all stop working when inside a plugin in the playing DP sequencer. I also found the same problem using Apple Soundtrack. (Don't have access to other VST/AU hosts with automation to test.)
