I have a bit of a screwy plugin process i am trying to make work and having no luck with so i thought I'd see if anyone here can offer advice/workarounds/makeitwork... Here's the situation: I need to make a batch process in Peak which sends individual speech files through a vocoder. Unfortunately the vocoder in Pluggo doesn't give me the right sound, so I have to use one externally. However, the one I do have, which has the sound I need, is in Reason (so i can't insert external plugins) So I thought I'd rewire my Reason to Cubase, put a PluggoBus Send in Cubase on the incoming signal from Reason, then have a PluggoBus Rcv in the vbox in Peak, then point the vocoder carrier source to the PluggoBus to hear the Reason vocoder. But it doesn't work (should it?). I can hear the synth showing up in cubase fine, I can send it on a pluggo bus anywhere inside cubase, but Peak never seems to hear it on its end. Could this be because it is in a separate app and the PluggoBuses are specific to individual instances of an application? I also looked into Soundflower, sending the Reason output on a Soundflower channel and then looking for a way to bring that into Peak, but again Peak doesn't seem to hear any inputs unless it's recording. Ultimately Peak is just the tool to run the batch process which is all 3rd party plugins, so if there is another way people can think of doing this i'm open to it. The kicker is that the processing has to go onto thousands of individual files which have already been edited, so I know I could bring them all into cubase, lay them out on a timeline, mixdown the whole thing with the vocoder, and get the sound i need on the files, but then each file would need to be edited and re-named from the single mixed-down file. I'm totally open to cubase tricks if there's a way to do it and still keep the outputted files individual. Any advice is appreciated, thanks! --- Jason C.
