got it. damn, it would solve everything if PluggoBus plugins could work across applications, or just see soundflower channels as valid channels to send or receive on.

i could just use cubase, but the issue is that I have 1000's of pre-named and edited files I want to keep separate with the proper names, but need to apply this process to. Just doing it in cubase would require mixing down a new file which would need re-editing/naming, unless there's a trick in that app I am missing.

A standalone runtime max/msp plugin machine would be great. Basically all it would need to be is Peak's Vbox where any plugins could be dropped in, auditioned on a file, and when the desired settings are ready, drop a folder of files on the app and let it batch process them all to new files. If the app could accept any CoreAudio channel as valid input to plugins then Reason could be sent out as a soundflower channel, that would come into the batch processor, get sent into the PluggoBus, and then the pluggo vocoder could hear it.

sounds simple enough ;-)

unfortunately the files are all speech, so lots of transients, over the course of anywhere between 3 and 8 seconds of file length, so automatically chopping them up with recycle wouldn't work out, plus they would all still need to be re-named.

I could find a utility which fuses up all the separate files into a single file with the filenames as region names, then bring that big file into cubase/Protools/whatever, apply the process in a mixdown, then find a way to transfer the region list from the first joined up file into the newly mixed down file, then extract the regions, but i don't know of any region list manipulation utilities out there.

Anyone have any suggestions for a file fusing utility which will make regions in the resulting file from the filenames? How about one which will transfer region lists between soundfiles? If those two steps can be accomplished then the processing can be done as a single file and I don't need to involve Peak.
