Just doing it in cubase would require mixing down a new file > which would need re-editing/naming, unless there's a trick in that app I am > missing. no, you are right about this. probably a protools job? about naming and start-points, i see the problem. peak indeed is _the tool for destructive editing. but that is also part of the problem, isnt it? thats why peak does not accept external audio input the way you need it: its batch pocessing works offline. i guess the names are needed for a cubase session? what about renaming the files in the cubase pool to 001, 002, 003 .. ? :) such names could be redone in a third party app unless the order of the files has changed. (next time that is.)
