[pluggo] file locations for plugins

I've created a VST pluggo plugin that plays audio files from buffer.  In MAX, there's a default folder to put the files into.
When the plugin is hosted in an app, like ableton live, where does it look for files?  Is there a way to specify a certain file path? I'd like to auto load these files, rather than the user select "open" or "read".
