Message-ID: <1bde6.46d98590@www.cycling74.com> Thank you for your help... I use Digital Perfomer in my editing and mixing sessions, i would like to use some powerful MAX patches via PLUGGO wich transforms audio signal and are controlled by MIDI cc's. I have this problem: DIGITAL PERFORMER don't seems to send any midi to a plugin inserted in an audio track (simply the plugin name doesn't appear in the midi out list of any midi track)but it only receives audio stream. If (using the "#C synth;" tag in pluginconfig) i create a synth instruments, it can receive midi data, but it cannot receive directly any audio stream by a track. is it a limitation of DP or is possible to workaround using BUS send and receive? How would u solve the problem to make a VST Instument (unless tagged as VSTi with #C Synth; DP won't let it receive midi) wich needs an audio input from a track? how to route audio from tracks into it? What about, if you can help me in this too, the fact that Plugins don't receive midi input in DP (the plugmidiin object only works in a SYNTH type of plug). DP is not creating a virtual midi input for the plug, even if it happens for a couple of proprietary MOTU plugs, like multimode filter or ringmodulator. (which only means that pluggo plays in the same league than the market leader "waves") back in the days on mac classic pluggo was running as MAS plug-ins, but now you use them as AU in DP. the result might be that you cant have midi in at all. for users of steinberg hosts this is nothing special, [plugmidiin] never worked in effects for us. in some other hosts it only works for one channel, or not with every version of the host ... its a lottery. for midi in (ab)use a synth and pluggobus ... -110 From scott_archambault at Hotmail.com Wed Sep 5 09:06:49 2007 From: scott_archambault at Hotmail.com (Scott Archambault) Date: Wed Sep 5 09:06:50 2007 Subject: [pluggo] Where are the new plugins? But I just purchased Upmix and whilst yes it passes AU validation, the sliders (on the upmix GUI) dont work within Logic 8. Strangely though, if you use the dropdown menu in logic to change from upmix GUI to "controls" - the sliders work in there.... I sent a mail to support informing them of the "bug", but as yet havent heard anything back. Not the end of the world as you can use the anoying controls editor to change the values, but not from the upmix GUI,which im sure is a simple fix... Do the Gui Sliders really work on your version of Logic 8? Mutes and solos appear to work, as doe the eq section for the center channel, but volume slider, whilst they move (graphicaly), they dont do anything... Notice also if you click on the number range next to the slider it works too. We'll have a look at it in more detail. Thanks for the note. -A From info at gamesound.co.uk Sat Sep 29 15:37:55 2007 From: info at gamesound.co.uk (Rik Ede) Date: Sat Sep 29 15:37:57 2007 Subject: [pluggo] Re: Pluggo and Logic Pro 8 In-Reply-To: <1c779.46fe6f7f@www.cycling74.com> Message-ID: <1c799.46fec5b2@www.cycling74.com> Hey Andrew, Thanks for that - It's nice that you can get it to work by using the numbers to the side of the sliders as you said. It's even nicer to know that it wasnt just me having a blonde moment! At long last it's nice to be able to perfrom upmixes within the box as opposed to having to use outboard now that logic has finaly gone full fat surround! GUI aside (for now) im loving UPMIX so far! Bargain price too! When I use a Pluggo-Plugin ("Cyclotron" described as cpu:light in the manual) in a vst~-object the CPU-usage in the DSP Status window stays aroud 2% while the OS-Activity monitor says 80% is used by max. The fan starts immediately to blow. Is this known as normal, do I have to buy a macbook to use two plugins paralell? Thank you for a hint ole
