an update on this issue that might help some others as well...
after a lot of digging and headscratching with tech support on this
issue, we finally figured out what was happening on my particular
system, and this could also relate to others so i'm posting the
results here. on my mac book pro, running 10.4.11 and pt 7.4 le, my
pluggo plugs were not showing up at all. hipno showed up fine, just
no pluggo. after a round of reinstalls we decided to remove all vsts
but pluggo and see what happened. the pluggos reappeared in pt, so
that meant that an errant plug was causing the issue. i finally
tracked it down to a plug that i had made from a patch from an old
pluggo that i needed as a UB version. a kind soul on the list sent me
the patch, and i loaded it in max, tested to make sure that it was
working and made a vst from it. there must be a hidden gremlin in the
patch, because its presence in the vst folder will keep all other
pluggos from showing. removing this one plug cures the issue. oddly
enough, this vst works just fine in ableton live, cubase and max - it
is only pro tools that has a problem. go figure.
cheers
