Though, once my patch is converted as pluggo in DP 5.11, the muted poly~ still have strong residual CPU load. And this is about 20-30% of the CPU used when enabled... I tried both the "mute 0 $1" and "enable" message. Any clues ? In the poly~ there is several levelmeter~. Same result when using peakamp~. I also tried with the regular bpatcher and mute~, but no improvment. Here's the test pluggo (patch is bellow) : http://www.editions-ihs.com/temp/GAINFAKE%20dev%20serial.vst.zip Thanks ! If all is well, the 100 plugins coming with that install should show up in your host and work, except for a copy protection noise at regular intervals. Ah, good to hear it works. I heard more people complain about stuffit. > > I'd really be interested in getting into some of that Max stuff, once I get through this learning curve for Protools and midi. Is it a complicated process? Can you recommend any web-based articles or tutorials on it? Well, learning Max is different from learning Protools although not necessarily more time consuming. The way I see it: Protools is an end-user application. That means it's their responsibility to make you understand it. Learning Protools costs a lot of time because they do quite a horrible job at that. Max is a programming language. That means it's your responsibility to make your own program, and of course you'll design it in a way that works for you. Learning Max can cost a lot of time, depending on your background, because you have to learn how to program. But yes, there are a lot of great tutorials. They come with Max. Have a look at them and you'll see that learning how to program is a lot faster with Max than with a text-based programming language, simply because Max' syntax is much more intuitive. The actual plugin files reside in Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/. In the testing that I have done, removing the Digidesign included plugins "Dither.dpm" and "Time Shift.dpm" plugins appears to resolve any number limit on installed Pluggo plugins. So far, this issue is looking pretty bizarre, and will probably need to be addressed by Digidesign. Bring up the plugin manager and select the pluggo and select plugin properties. Enable "Configure as synth", your pluggo is then moved to the VSTi section. You can then add it as a synth, make sure you select enable MIDI output when you do.
