As far as the audio related drawing thing goes, I'll try and get some better initialisation of audio drivers going. -A From andrew at cycling74.com Thu May 1 10:13:28 2008 From: andrew at cycling74.com (Andrew Pask) Date: Thu May 1 10:13:32 2008 Subject: [radiaL] Re: Monitoring audio input In-Reply-To: <2213a.48164dca@www.cycling74.com> Message-ID: <2233d.4819ec28@www.cycling74.com> radiaL doesn't do input monitoring - you'll need to figure that one out with your audio gear. -A From burland at earthlink.net Thu May 1 11:56:34 2008 From: burland at earthlink.net (Scott Burland) Date: Thu May 1 11:56:38 2008 Subject: [radiaL] Re: Monitoring audio input In-Reply-To: <2233d.4819ec28@www.cycling74.com> Message-ID: <22350.481a0452@www.cycling74.com> Thanks Andrew...I'll noodle around and see if I can figure it out. Okay - I want to control 8 channels' volume control in Radial with the UC-33e's 8 sliders like a mixer but I only control 1 channel with it and the rest - I can't do. Well, I will tell you step by step what I am doing so you all don't get confused. First, I chose UC-33 USB MIDI controller port 1 chan 1 under the midi/control set up in Radial. Second, I go to Control Map section to open the control panel in Radial. From there, I chose chan_1.mix.gain under the parameter and chose cc and put 7 in the midi cc number section under the controller. Why I chose 7 because on the UC-33e every channel has a slider and three knobs and when I move slider it shows cc 7 - when I tweak the 1st knob, it shows cc 10 - the second knob shows cc 12 - and the third knob shows cc 13. So when I put 7, it communicates with the slider because it is its cc number. So everything is clear I hope until here. (Hopefully) When I move the 1st channel's slider on the UC-33e, the Radial's volume slider also moves up and down - no problem. Here is the problem comes in... For the second channel - I don't know what to do. What I mean by that is this... I go to the chan_2.mix.gain under the parameter and chose cc again and put 7 in the midi cc number section under the controller but this time when I move the second channel's slider on the UC-33e, the second channel's volume slider doesn't move. I know why because I have to change from chan 1 to chan 2 in the MIDI cc section under the midi/control setup. But when I do that (changing from chan 1 to chan 2) this time, on the UC-33e, the first slider doesn't move the first volume slider of the Radial but the second slider of the UC-33e moves both channel 1 and channel 2 volume sliders up and down in Radial. On this issue, I don't understand the MIDI cc channels. There must be other solution for this. Please help me or I am going nuts. :P Thank you so much in advance. snoogy -- It hurts to be on the cutting edge.... | From andrew at cycling74.com Wed May 7 14:13:53 2008 From: andrew at cycling74.com (Andrew Pask) Date: Wed May 7 14:13:57 2008 Subject: [radiaL] Re: A problem with M-AUDIO U-CONTROL UC-33e In-Reply-To: <22689.48219500@www.cycling74.com> Message-ID: <226d0.48220d81@www.cycling74.com> If you use the same controller number for both channels (7) then the same slider will control both yeah? I think this is what I'm understanding. You need a separate controller number for each radiaL param you wish to control. I didn't read your original post thoroughly and immediately thought that you wanted to control objects in Max with the UC-33e, but you do not. I know nothing of Radial, but I do know of a great program you can download free from M-Audio called Enigma that allows you to change and revert presets, and see exactly what channel which CC is on. The link is: http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=enigma.register Download it and if you need help with it ask. So I get the new midi cc numbers - like 1st slider's midi cc = 20 and 2nd slider's midi cc = 21 etc... but now, the radial or any other program doesn't see the UC-33e as a midi controller. I opened the core midi and it looks like shadowed - not in use mode. :p How can I change the presets to the factory settings so the core midi at least sees it. So Sorry if I give you a headache.
