Authorization

If I own one copy of the software, how many computers can I authorize?

While Cycling '74 limits the total number of computers a user can authorize, our single-user license agreement does allow multiple authorizations of personal computers, as long as the software is only running on one at a time.

How do I authorize a computer if it's not connected to the internet?

Best option: Copy the Challenge code and make sure that it is without errors and e-mail it from a machine that is connected to the internet. Include your full name and serial number.

Alternative #1: Print out the Challenge code and fax it to +1 415 974-1812. Write your full name and serial number on the fax, too.

Alternative #2: Contact us via phone +1 415 974-1818.

How do I re-authorize my copy of Max 5 if I just purchased an add-on like Jitter?

On a Mac, hold down the "Control-Command" keys while starting up Max 5 (not from the dock). On Windows, hold down the "Shift-Control-C" keys while starting up Max 5.

This will bring you to the authorization dialog box where you can get a replacement internet authorization. If you no longer have your original serial number, the add-on order email will include it again as a reminder.

Will Max 4.6 (or older) stay authorized even after I authorize Max 5?

Yes, they are separate applications with separate authorizations.
