I try to control an ethernet relay board with some http commands.

It does work fine in Max with the help of [maxurl]  but 

 as a live device (Live12, Max8.6 under macOS13, 14).

In Live [maxurl] behaves erratically and crashes sooner or later (sometimes when quitting Live).

I'm creating a max for live device, and i was wondering if there is a way to make one single file out of it (for easy use/install) since i'm using javascript (and obviously an external js file).

I’m trying to open an abstraction directly embedded in a bpatcher when I instantiate it by its name in a simple object box. Additionally, I want to be able to use arguments and attributes.

 folder of my package with the following commands:

max objectfile abstraction-name abstraction-name;

max definesubstitution abstraction-name bpatcher @name abstraction-name @border 1; 

When I call the abstraction by its name in a patcher, it opens embedded in a bpatcher with the border.

However, I haven’t figured out how to use arguments and attributes. Ideally, I’d like to be able to call, for example, "

bpatcher @name abstraction-name 3 @myAttribute toto @border 1

Does anyone have an idea how to achieve this?

I know this has been covered to some extent before, but unpredictable behavior in this is making me a bit nuts. 

I'm in a dev round with a client for an M4L device, which unfortunately means regular freezing and unfreezing -- this leads to promiscuous creation of file copies, both in the new Project folder created, and in the 'discarded' folders inside it.

Generally, when I have to freeze, I rename the device to keep things clear. According to Jeremy's post of ten years ago (

There are a couple of things I find confusing about the actual behavior of an unfrozen device based on this:

Mattijs Kneppers had some useful advice in the thread above, but it still seems like an incredibly clunky way to manage any of this. I guess I can put up with moving old versions out of the search path, but some way to actually see everything in the .amxd in one place would be incredibly helpful.

I'd appreciate any wisdom on how to manage this, and perhaps C74 could look into some way of improving this workflow. Kind of a rant, I know, but thanks for listening!

I am using the Crosspatch and I am trying to use exclusivity on the outputs. When I activate this feature and click from Crosspatch 0 to 1, then from 1 to 1, the first link is correctly deleted. However, I control the Crosspatch with messages and when I send the message "0 1 1." then "1 1 1." the first link is not deleted.

Hello, many thanks if someone can glance at this old code of mine that worked fine on Mac and PC until I had to recompile for Apple Silicon, which seems to revealed a memory handling bug that causes a patch using this external object to crash Max when the patch is closed. Any help cleaning up the annoying bug much appreciated.

What the code does: it accepts incoming notes and velocities and keeps track in what order the notes were played, and if a note is repeated, it gets bumped up to most recent from its earlier place in cue. The basic idea is for a monophonic synth to keep track of notes so that as you lift keys the last one played sounds again.

It's called tracker. It seems the line cited in the crash report is:
