Just made this additive synth and trying to incorporate a playlist file as a placeholder for adc~ as I'm putting live optical sound through at some point so I'm just at the  test stage  but cant seem to get it working. It was working before  I tried including a sound input so I'm obvs doing something wrong with the receive~ send~ objects.

The Rpi 4B I am using does not show in the target export window. I manually added the address of the pi, but it still shows it as not connected. Wireless connection is otherwise working on the pi.

Other things I've tried to troubleshoot this issue:

Verify connection: I verified everything is correct in setup from the tutorial. Username is pi, hostname is unchanged, updated through terminal. I can SSH into the pi from my laptop and send and receive files, etc. 

Updates and installing dependencies:  I suspect it might have something to do with the way the raspberry is configured. I ran into an error for "sudo apt-get install jack_transport_link rnbo-runner-panel," which gives the error: 

"E: Unable to locate package jack_transport_link

E: Unable to locate package rnbo-runner-panel"

I have used "sudo apt-get install" as well as "sudo apt update | sudo apt upgrade" and rebooted the pi. I'm at a loss. If anyone can tell me why the pi will not show up on the target window, that would be amazing. I have puzzled over this for several days.

I want to make a device to optimize my podcast-editing flow i Ableton. 

So for instance, if I have an input in my textedit that has the following format 

"[01:05] bla bla bla  [01:28]", I want to extract that corresponding length (23 seconds) in an audio track with a corresponding audio file.  

My workflow right now is, that I look at a google-docs transcription with lots of timecodes, so if I can automate that task, it would be really nice. Right now my code looks like this, and it doesn't work. I hope someone can help me.

I have created a new Max for Live Device that I want to distribute. It is currently a frozen .amxd. I have made several Live presets for this that are .adv files on my machine.

How can I now send the device to others - with the presets?

I have tried sending the complete thing as a folder containing the amxd and the presets, but they do not appear for the user at the other end, or are unlinked from the device.

This seems like a simple thing I must be missing....

Hi All - I'm terribly sorry if this is a completely basic question...

I'm trying to multiply two numbers and generate a floating point answer.  I seem to keep getting an integer answer.

1) I have a [metro} to send a <bang> every second

2) I have [counter] to keep count of the <bangs>

3) I have the [counter] output feed into a flonum [number] set to 2 decimal places.

5) The right inlet of [*] in #4 above is set to a decimal number through a message connected to a flonum [number] which is then connected to the right inlet of [*].

6) The output of this configuration leads to an integer value, while the right inlet is sending a flonum

I must be missing something. I can't find how to access the arguments of a Patcher object in javascript. I would expect the Patcher object to have a method such as getArgs() or a property args, but I can't find anything like it. There seems to be no real answer to this on the forum either.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hi everyone, I am building a sound installation with load cells laid out in a 6x6 matrix, 60cm apart. On top of the load cells are wooden boards. I send my raw sensor data from Arduino to Max and then calculate centroid of mass, mass velocity, speed (scalar & vector), and a few other things.

The challenge I'm currently stuck with is how to implement a trigger system for events/bangs. So far I've tried combinations of peak detection (with and without blocking timers) and velocity thresholds (with hysteresis). When I use velocity or acceleration, it reacts well but is often too sensitive and picks up steps or unintentional movements. When I use peak detection, there's a small delay.

A basic problem is that people continuously stand or move on the surface, which you don't have with touchpads or XY pads—usually the user removes their finger and there are no movements that aren't trigger movements in some way.

For those with more experience in designing interactive systems than me: what are possible ways of tackling this problem? Either it's delayed, not sensitive enough, or it gets too sensitive and triggers at unpredictable points for the user.
