Hi. I have a problem with Bandpass Filters. I need to create a bandpass filter with a slope of 60 dB per octave, and I need to have my passband between 90 HZ and 381 HZ.

My question is: how can I control this parameters in a Banpass filter? I suppose I shall use a reson~, a biquad~ or a fffb~... But I was not able to find in the Help or in the Reference what I was looking for.

Max 9 keeps crashing everytime I try to convert a subpatch into a tab.

As soon as I select "parent" from the inspector Max crashes.

This happens even on help files if I toggle the option.

This picture shows "frame 0" the way I would like my M4L movie player device to appear when it first loads its movie.  Two "grid shapes" in an "anim node" in front of two "mesh warps" that use inversions of "the same" mask where all four jit.gl objects "screen" the same movie.

I think my problem is the M4L patch seems to load itself in a semi random layering order, and I can't seem to make the "correct" layering order permanently stick.  The "layer" property value doesn't seem to help me with control that way.  For example, the two "grid shapes" (the "anim node") often appears (invisible) behind the two "mesh warps" when the patch loads.  I never get to see the open cylinder and plane shapes when it loads that layer order unless I disable the "mesh warps".  And, one or the other of the two meshwarps will also be semi randomly on top.  My only recourse seems to be reopening different copies of the same patch until one loads with the "grid shapes" on top like this.   I know that can't be right.  But I don't know how to make it right.  Any ideas?

I saved the .amxd file as a .maxpat file so I could "copy to clipboard".  But this copy doesn't have the shader file, the movie file, or the preset.json file.  It might still be useful in answering my layering question though.  If the patch seems messy and complex, it's because I haven't been able to clean up and simplify while it's so "broken" and I don't understand why.

I am newer to using scripts in Max, and I'm trying to figure out if there is a way for me to write a script that, when triggered, opens a specific package page in the package manager. 

I am trying to make the process of downloading the required package to run the patch as easy as possible for the end user. Obviously, there are other ways around this problem (write out the instructions for what to do to download a package; use [; openbrowser  

{package_name} etc.), but the foolproof-est solution would seem to be to have the package manager open to the correct page.

There are two steps that I'm not sure how to make happen (which might be useful to someone else in isolation): (1) open any panel that can be accessed from the dropdown menus (e.g. package manager, MIDI setup, preferences, etc.) and (2) once I've done that, navigate to a specific page. 

It's entirely possible this way of thinking about the problem is too end-user-y, and that I should be thinking about the whole process differently when working with a script.

Everything is pretty straight forward but i'm stuck with the look-ahead attack part.

I tried to delay the dry signal while adjusting delay for the attack (fade-in) portion of the side-chain,

I am successfully receiving serial data, but I’m having trouble routing it correctly after parsing.The data is sent as structured message boxes in this format

1. **Direct URL to buffer~** - Doesn't work, the URLs have CORS/403 protection
2. **Node for Max with http/https modules** - Gets HTTP 403 errors from the server
3. **curl/wget via shell** - Also blocked with 403
4. **yt-dlp** - Permission and dependency issues
